Mending Wings Ministries exists to EMPOWER Native American youth and families to WALK together in wholeness and beauty, to HONOR Creator through our cultures and lives, to provide programs that facilitate HEALING within our reservation communities, and to SHARE with others the life-changing hope we find as followers of The Jesus Way.
- To train and mentor native and non-native, men and women to establish Biblically sound, contextualized Native youth ministries.
- Establish Worship Circles on the Yakama Reservation
- To hold northwest native youth conferences, retreats, and youth leader trainings events.
- To facilitate short term ministry trips for Native Youth, both stateside and internationally.
- Facilitate the passing of Yakama cultural practices through elders to youth-teaching and encouraging beadwork, drum, traditional Yakama songs, tule, basket making, digging, gathering, hunting, fishing….
- To helping middle school and high school students graduate and see there dreams, goals and aspirations come to fruition. Helping them to develop, plan, and implement the steps needed to move them toward these dreams, goals and aspirations.
- To hold weekly youth church meetings, providing a safe healthy environment where the Jesus way is taught and social issues for youth are discussed.
- To provide a year long cross cultural internship for Native and Non-Native young adults
- To establish a young adult ministry that provides a context for fellowship, worship and spiritual growth in the Jesus Way for post high school Natives on the Yakama Reservation.
